Biography

Justine Gauthier is the Vice-President, Legal & General Counsel of LawZero, where she also serves as Secretary of the Board. She has been involved with LawZero since its inception at Mila, the leading AI research institute where she was responsible for legal affairs, corporate governance, and AI governance. Earlier in her career, Justine practiced law at Fasken, one of Canada’s most prominent law firms. She holds a civil law degree (LL.L. summa cum laude) from the University of Ottawa, a common law degree (J.D.) from the University of Montreal, and is a member of the Quebec Bar.

Justine is involved in key AI initiatives on the global stage, including as a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Data Frontiers and AI Governance Alliance, and as a member of the IAPP’s AI Center Advisory Board. She also holds seats on the boards of Front Row Ventures and of the Canadian Technology Law Association.
